It has a voice operated recording that permits activation of the recorder only when audible sound is present, conserving tape and eliminating soundless pauses during playback. Also has a handy Cue and Review that provides sound during fast forward or rewind to help find specific passages. Speaker may sound wonky at times but otherwise it works fine playing cassette tapes. The one issue is getting to record with such device, but otherwise playback is great.
