The Deluxe Talkboy is. A portable variable speed cassette player and recorder. Manufactured by Tiger Electronics (now owned by Hasbro) in the early 1990s. Inspired by the original conceived as a prop for the 1992 movie Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, used by the main character Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin). This reproduction gets tons of positive comments when displayed in home or work. This unit is in good working order. Battery compartment has no corrosion. Original tape plays and looks good. These units never had amazing sound so don’t expect high fidelity. Unit has been played with but not abused. See pictures to review condition. Tape is pre-recorded (from the movie) on one side (locks rec button from recording) and recordable on the other side (un-locked so you can record). Just Tested again 11-2021. (Remove batteries before putting in your collection). Note: On-Off switch under microphone base.
