Vintage Commercial Sony Umatic VCR Videocassette Recorder VO-2630S and 1 Umatic 3M Cassette Tape. When first released, this product was primarily used commercially by TV stations and other similar organizations which needed to quickly turnaround videotaped footage for broadcast. The unit turns on and off and the faint noise of a cooling fan? (Possibly an idler motor) can be heard while the machine is on, the top loading ejection port button lights up when pressed but does not seem to eject the top loading door consistently. It appears the top loading ejection door is opened via a motor or belt. The play, rewind, record, etc. Functions were not able to be tested as the buttons can only can be activated when a tape is inserted which I wasnt able to do given the issues with the top loading door. The vu meter lights and internal lights still work. The machine is in excellent cosmetic shape, no visible marks, although the internals probably need to be cleaned or dusted. This unit sat on a shelf in an entertainment cabinet system beneath a TV where the original owner placed it 40 years ago. This unit likely needs new belts for the top loading feature, transport and some other light restoration work to get it to run.
