Up for grab is a preloved Sony Radio Cassette Walkman – WM-GX90. One of the few last and best Walkman Sony ever made. The WM-GX90 was top of the line model, metal casing, made in Japan and also designed for high quality sound recording. I had owned many high end cassette players back in time mainly Nakamichi. The WM-GX90 Walkman is the only cassette player that I have kept all these years. The unit has little use in its day as I only used it for field sound recording when needed. Upon testing yesterday, the player will need a belt replacement. The tuner work great but the player will not play tape anymore as the belt had perished. Pressing play, forward or rewind will only hear the motor winding without the tape moving. I had confirmed that by removing the back cover for inspection as shown in photo attached. This listing is for a Sony WM -GX90, AA battery pack to power the Walkman with stereo microphone, Original Sony pouch, Sony BC-7BT charger (accept 100 to 120V or 220 to 240V), NC-6WM Sony battery x 1, Original headphone with wired remote control. Please note that there are some minor marks and scratches – otherwise in excellent condition. Tuner is tested in full working order. Charger is tested in full working order. NC-6WM battery is tested in working order – seems to hold charge more than 2 days now. (the battery has little use in its days but not sure about performance after all these years). CR2016 battery had been replaced (for clock and tuner memory). AA battery compartment had been tested in working order to power the Walkman without the NC-6WM. Original headphone and remote tested in working order. However a better headphone is recommended. The unit itself sound fantastic but the original headphone sound really bad. I had tested the tuner with a Sennheiser headphone and it sound really good. Remind me of the full analog days. Please note that to use any headphone other than the original headphone with remote, the player need to set at remote off. Please see photo attached. There is no button here so you need use something small here to move the dipswitch. If you intend to use the original headphone with remote please set the remote dip switch to on.
