It’s from 1979 and is one of the best-sounding, most well-built boomboxes ever made. It is always in high demand, so prices can be a bit on the high side. The M4500K has a robust, almost military-like design that prioritises function over bling. The front is dominated by 3 old-school needle meters. The meter on the left side of the tuning dial measures tuning strength or battery strength (set switch to Phono for Battery Check), and the two meters below the cassette door measure power output. It feels very solid, and does not creak when carried. It was designed during the late 1970’s when manufacturers believed people wanted high quality. Net weight 5.2 kg.
