Vintage Nakamichi 1000 Tri Tracer 3 Head Cassette Tape Deck. All original Nakamichi 1000 with original case, original cleaning kit (no fluid left), and original manual. Absolutely amazing condition with just a few blemishes on top corner of the case (see pictures) but otherwise near perfect. This came from the. Owner who was non-smoking and babied his equipment. I can tell this sat for many years without use as the faders were basically seized and just needed lubrication and cleaning. I think you would be hard pressed to find a nicer example. I performed the following “mini service” on the deck. Cleaned jacks using DeOxit D5. Cleaned and lubricated the sliders using DeOxit products. Cleaned tape and record heads. Demagnetized tape and record heads. Cleaned internal board contacts and reseated boards. Lubricated capstan shafts and flywheels. Performed the user serviceable azimuth alignment with the controls above the tape transport. Tested playback and record functionality and it sounds very good. This tape deck is working well to the best of my knowledge (basic playback and record) minus the tape transport counter. The tape counter belt is stretched and loose so the counter doesn’t turn all the time. Since the main belts looks like they have been recently replaced I couldn’t justify a new belt kit so I didn’t replace the counter belt. I will guarantee that basic functionality play/record works on the unit when it reaches you. Item will be extremely well packed with lots of bubble wrap. To see my other auctions!
