Rare Vintage “Reporter-7 A” Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder (1975). Manufactured by “Mechanikai Laboratórium” (Budapest, Hungary) for Soviet USSR Journalists. The Reporter-7 A is a legendary, heavy-duty portable reporter tape recorder, often referred to as the Hungarian Nagra. Developed and produced since 1975 by the highly respected Hungarian enterprise Mechanikai Laboratórium (ML), this model was custom-built for professional radio and TV journalists in the Soviet Union. Unlike consumer-grade Soviet electronics, Hungarian ML equipment was built to strict broadcasting standards and supplied directly to State Radio and Television (Gosteleradio USSR). It was widely used by correspondents in the field, at sports events (including the 1980 Moscow Olympics), and in hot spots due to its military-grade durability and excellent audio quality.
