Just picked this unit up still testing out functions! So far powers up on 8 D cell batteries. Battery compartment super clean no corrosion! Foam tray cushion dry rotted. Power on / button tip broken off still works! Dual Antennas go up and down however they are bent a little each! But if your careful with them they do operate and stand erect by the tension of the set screw as they should! The plastic housing area where each antenna goes into each have a Crack as seen in photos. Tuning through all of the 4 short wave channels and the med wave channels at night seem to come in better in my location? Could be weather as well effecting tune in ability. But received many stations throughout plus alot of morose code sounds? The only speaker that seems to be functioning is the left side facing the radio. I have not opened up the case yet to look around get photos. Might get in there and just dust a little. Listing this unit in As Is condition currently. As parts or repair! Simply because I know some portions of this unit need repair! Or use it as us as i have? I may polish it a bit more and try to locate speakers and switch. In the meantime it’s up fir grabs. Price will go up the more time I invest in this boom box. This is a fairly heavy radio and would need a good amount of bubble wrap and double boxing. Update Oct 20th 2025! Tested cassette portion of the boom box! With updated test video. All functions seem to work! Although I have not tried to record yet! The eject button works but door is slow to open without assistance!
