Vintage Fisher ER-8150 Dual Deck 8 Track + Cassette Tape Recorder with Dolby NR and Bonus. Vintage Fisher Studio Standard ER-8150 8 Track + Cassette Tape Recorder Player. Unit is in good working and cosmetic condition, looks and sound good. Tested and works, cassette deck will Play, FF, RW, (not tested for Recording) heads and capstan roller in good shape, 8-Track deck will Play FF, and change tracks, head is in good shape. (not tested for Recording). According to the previous owner – Unit was serviced in 2022, mechanism was cleaned/lubricated, controls cleaned with DeoxIT, and belts replaced. Comes with Bonus – I also including four 8-Track tapes. Note on 8 track cartridges. Many times, I heard people complain that 8 track players cut tape during FF or playback and blame player for that. That is actually not true, 8 track transports are very robust, and 99% – it’s tape, not a player. 8 track cartridges have endless tape loop inside and the ends of the tape glued together with metalized piece for automatic track switching (similar to reel-to-reel tape with metalized piece glued for auto-reverse). Over the years, the glue is dried out and ends of tape will disconnect during FF/playback/recording. Most people who’s serious about 8 track tapes – will re-glue that part before playing any 8-track cartridge they’re all must be re-glued, even if a cartridge will play for now, tape eventually will break inside, and it will pain (you know where) to open cartridge for repair. Also, many 8 track cartridges (but not all) have Foam Pressure Pads, again, over the years that foam deteriorated and must be replaced to get best sound from your cartridge.
