1981-83 high end audiophile Luxman K-117 stereo cassette deck. Classic silver face hifi look with wood cabinet and blue LED meters. Nice rare unit, anything made by Luxman was top of the line back then. The main features are 2 heads, ability to read normal, CrO2 and metal tapes, tape counter, tape type selection and digital peak reading level meters. This is an exceptionally clean and great condition unit, simulated wood case has a few scratches and dinks normal with a unit of this vintage. Power cord is in good shape. EXTENT OF TESTING: it powers on, all lights on front panel seem to work, all switches move easily and keep their position. When I bought this deck, it needed new belts installed and old belt residue cleaned from pulleys and rollers. I did not replace the tape counter belt as that involved too much disassembly and it had not turned to goo as the other two belts had, but a new belt will be included. I was hoping the belts were the only issue, however I can not get a tape to play, buttons on front have no effect on motor. It could be a simple fix such as a fuse or a replacement capacitor… Or it could be more involved. I have no idea. Since the motor will not move for some reason, I was unable to test playback of cassettes or test that the front-panel buttons control the motors. No further testing was done , I have too many projects and too little time so this goes to a new home. See photos as they are part of the description.
