For Sale: Vintage SHARP QT- 89HW STEREO CASSETTE RECORDER PLAYER BOOMBOX GHETTO BLASTER. This stereo is in excellent cosmetic condition. This stereo lived on a shelf all of its life and there are very few signs of wear. The front, top, and sides are all in very good condition. The back of the stereo shows fading like many others of this make and model. The speakers are both securely attached and are easily removable with no problems. There are two minor cosmetic flaws on this stereo. Both flaws relate to the antenna. The antenna has a minor bend near the base as shown in the photos. The bend is not cracked and as you can see in the photos, the antenna extends out to full length(holy cow its a long antenna) and can hold itself up with no problems. The reception of the antenna appears to be unaffected as I can get all my local radio stations in my basement. Newer radios can’t do that. The small plastic piece which holds the antenna in place for storage has broken off. Therefore the antenna is some what loose when it is in the stored position. Not a deal breaker by any means. The handle is in good condition but one side does slide out with a little force. I have not inspected the handle too close. The stereo can be carried by the handle fine using caution. This stereo is fully function with only one minor issue regarding the tape player. The speakers sound great in both radio and tape mode. I honestly can’t believe this little stereo puts out such great volume and sound. The tuning works as it should. The level meter works as it should. The speaker balance works as it should. All buttons work and are functional. Both tape players operate mechanically. Tape player 1 works but does not put out much sound. I have gently wiped the tape player 1 head with alcohol and that helped somewhat. This may be an issue with the magnetism of the head but I will not mess with that. Tape player 2 works excellent. It puts out great sound as it should. I have not tried to test the dubbing feature due to the tape player 1 issue. Everything else works as it should. The stereo includes what I believe to be an original European power plug with a US plug adapter as shown in the photos. This stereo will be double boxed with bubble wrap included and package with the utmost care. I will answer any questions shortly after they are received. Thank you for looking!
