Alright, here it is! If youre looking at this, you probably already know what it is. Ive upgraded to a 388, so time to sell my trusty 688! Im listing everything I know about this machine to the best of my ability. Great working condition and great cosmetic condition with a few minor issues that didnt effect my use at all. Ive been using this unit weekly for the past year and have no major complaints! All 8 tracks work and play back as they should. All knobs and sliders are present and move as they should-super sturdy! As seen in the photo attached, the meters appear slightly dim in the middle. Theyre still very bright and all work. This didnt bother me in the least bit, but I want to be as thorough as possible. Next, as seen in the photo attached, the slider for the DBX for channels 1-4 is broken off. If I ever wanted to switch the DBX on or off I just stuck a pen in the hole and switched it that way. Again, not really a big deal to me but figured Id throw it out there. Every once in a while youll have to hit the Record button more than one time. Ive never NOT gotten it to record, so it hasnt been an issue. The bottom of the machine has a long piece of gaff tape holding the wrist padding (or whatever its called) on. One side was broken off and this was my quick and easy fix. For some reason the gaff tape has started to get tacky. It might need to be removed or covered in gaff tape again! I slightly remember the headphone jack being somewhat scratchy at times, but I couldnt replicate it again when I took the photos. Also, I have not tested the MIDI function of this machine, but see no reason as to why it should not work. Ive listed everything to the best of my ability, and thats just one of the many joys of working with vintage analog equipment.
