Nice Golden Era cassette deck from the legendary CT-F line of decks from Pioneer. The 700 was second from the top of the line when it was produced in 1978-79. Has almost every feature you could want, including an independent Dynamic Level meter, auto CrO2 selector, Dolby noise reduction. This unit has been fully tested. Motors work smooth and quiet in each direction, and record function is 100% tested and working. Meters all work in unison and are balanced – no weak meters. Lights are all good. Playback quality is good – heads have not been cleaned so there is room for increased fidelity. There are a couple of issues to mention. Needs a new tape counter belt – this belt is easy to replace and does not require any disassembly – see photo. Also, the corner of the pause button is damaged, and all of the push buttons have pocking on them. The rest of the faceplate is very clean – the knobs are beautiful. The serial number is YF3608029. The Pioneer CT-F700 is a 2-head, stereo cassette recorder with Dolby noise reduction. Features include a highly reliable transport mechanism utilising a DC servo motor, a Ferrite solid head, newly developed dynamic level meter for enhanced recording sound quality, built-in Dolby system for reduced tape hiss, bias adjustment mechanism to bring out the best in tapes and a rich selection of accessory mechanisms. Type: 2-head, single compact cassette deck. Track System: 4-track, 2-channel stereo. Tape Speed: 4.75 cm/s. Heads: 1 x record/playback, 1 x erase. Motor: electronically controlled DC. Tape Type: type I, FeCr, CrO2. Frequency Response: 25Hz to 17kHz (Cr02 tape). Signal to Noise Ratio: 64dB (dolby B). Wow and Flutter: 0.05%. Total Harmonic Distortion: 1.5%.
