RARE VINTAGE TECHNICS RS-M65 Cassette Deck

The deck plays tapes and fast-forwards fine. Rewind works when the left (supply reel) is empty-to-low on tape but will stop by itself as the reel fills up; if the reel is already pretty full it won’t rewind. The REC MUTE button is missing and, I think, the control is stuck on mute because the deck won’t record any signal. It seems to record because the meters work during recording but there’s no signal when you play the recording back. It plays recorded tapes fine and sounds really good. The output and input level controls work but could use a shot of Deoxit (I opened the cover but the controls are pretty inaccessible without further dis-assembly, which I didn’t do). All other controls and displays work OK. In short, the deck plays fine but doesn’t record. OFFERED AS IS FOR PARTS OR REPAIR, as described.
