Vintage SONY BETAMAX SL-6200 BETA Video Cassette Player/Recorder VCR 6300

This old player was removed from a console. An internet search stated that it was the first beta player introduced into the U. Only available in a console unit. It is in pretty nice cosmetic condition. There are some light scuffs and scratches here and there. The worst of which I have pictured. I had to replace the eject and play belts. It works, but I have read that it is an unusual output signal that I could not adapt to the tv. This is possibly due to this not being designed to be a stand-alone unit?? I was able to get sound out of it. Fast forward and reverse are not working well. They are slow and reverse sometimes doesn’t work at all. Some of this may be due to the only cassette I had to test with, as they both ran when I had this apart and “fooled” the unit to think it had a cassette in it.
