This was in my own system as I used to record my own Audio tapes for the car. This is a very heavy quality unit Approx 9KG unpacked. If you look at pic 1 near the words’ cartridge recorder’ you can see a bit of the wood laminate coming away. This is the only defect in the casing. I have tested this using various 8 track cartridges and they all work. I have taken screen shots of the VUE meters moving as a tape is playing. This has NOT been tested recording but I presume it should be ok as well. This is a very rare item and my current system will not connect directly to it. This is your chance to get a bit of Stereo history and this AKAI system was one of the best. I always looked after my stereo well and this has never been abused. I do have a quantity of 8 track Cartridges mostly Prerecorded artists and a list can be supplied if required. There are also some recorded’blanks (90min)’ which were recorded on this machine.
