Up for sale, Vintage, TASCAM 122 cassette professional, 2 speed, studio recorder in good original condition. This is the original 2 speed professional series without the problematic MKII, III series vari speed capstan motor , this is a rugged well built unit! The following functions were tested with an old prerecorded cassette tape. Fast forward, play, rewind work, meters work fine, tape counter works, one meter light went out recently, needs repacement. No further tests were done. This has had the belt replaced recently, all contacts cleaned, moving parts lubed. The Heads look clean. I got this in trade, previous owner said it was serviced a few years ago? And has had very little use, just kept in the rack. It is pretty clean! I know nothing else about this unit. As with any vintage 40+ year old vintage electronics, anything can happen at any time. SEE PHOTOS, ASK Questions, as they are part of the description! This is a nice example of a studio quality Tascam deck in really clean condition, faceplate is extremely nice, controls knobs all intact, has some scuffs scrapes paint loss on metal cabinet. Most i’ve seen are beat up, ex studio rack mounted units. Iwould keep it but i stick with the mostly reel to reel. This unit will be packed securely for safe arrival, it is heavy. This is a hobby, i collect, certain ones, I Do Not work on, or service these, i leave that up to the experts.. I have too many recorders, time to let a few go!
