Vintage Antique SONY TC-158SD Professional Stereo Cassette Recorder. Very early model used by radio stations, schools and news organizations for years. Rare and nearly impossible to find working and in good condition. This one is a survivor. I have a huge collection of vintage electronics and I’m down sizing and moving so everything must go. Includes the original Sony carrying strap. Batteries do not hold a charge and will need to be replaced. But they are NOT leaking and intact. Both VU meters, switches and function buttons work. FF, RW, PLAY, PAUSE, STOP – all AOK. Playback functions work great. I have not tested the record heads with a microphone or another source so I don’t know if this works or not. I would assume yes – as it used to years ago. But I don’t have a blank cassette to test. I have owned this for 20 years and has been sitting in a box forever. I used to work in broadcast radio back in the dark ages. This is a very old piece of electronics from the 70’s.
