Radio powers up and works when fresh batteries are put in. All tape button functions are in non-working condition when pressed. I hear no sound from the Walkman when I press the buttons and there’s a tape in it but the power light goes on sometimes. Original box and directions are included. There are no headphones or batteries included.

Vintage Sony Walkman Cassette Player FM Radio WM-F17 Tested Works. Cosmetically, this Walkman is in great shape. There are some stress cracks where clear plastic meets black area (see pic). I tested radio and tape player and found the following.. Radio works well, is able to be programmed, no issues. FF and Rewind is very responsive, no weakness or hesitancy. No hesitancy when eject button is pushed. Tape plays when the play button is pushed. There is a static sound dependent on how the headphones/Walkman are positioned. You can get a clear sound, but it has to be maneuvered. This makes me think the headphone jack needs work. Mic is included and I did test the record function and it worked well. I didn’t notice any issues. Speed control doesn’t seem to be working correctly. I was able to hear different speeds but not with any consistency. Please consider this not functioning. Headphones are in great shape, muffs look nearly near. This comes with everything that you see photographed. It looks like this was well taken care, but please understand this is over 30 years old and does need some work to bring it back to fully functioning. Item Name: Sony Walkman WM-F17. Condition: I tested the Walkman and only the cassette player works and the radio works. Could not get the stereo to work Dont really know much about the product but only tested those 3 things. Has scratches, missing battery cover , one side of the headphones works.
