Mwdium grade cassette recorder/player with very good, clean aound. Deck has Normal/CrO tape bias adjustment and balance control. Factory protective film is still attached to both cassette decks wells. Unit offers good sound at its price level, and will provide many years of musical enjoyment.

Tested radio and cassette player working. Tape deck 2 has some issues and plays with distortion. Deck 1 plays just fine. Volume control sounds oxidized. Antenna has been snapped off and handle is missing!

This unit is in the Radio Hall of Fame. Comes with original case, which is in very nice shape. Recorder powers up nicely. Plugged in some ear buds. Radio works, able to scan stations. Do not have a cassette to test this function. I cannot verify cassette operation. Nice piece of vintage electronics. You are purchasing the item shown in photos. Very rare I have not seen one ever. This one was a state sale find. With a sad story. Guy got for his 10 year old that his mom kidnapped and both vanished in 1985. And was in his kids room in the closet shelf for 40 years. Truly, a museum piece. Radio and speakers work good. The belt for the cassette will need to be replaced as any thing that old belts will not function or break in pieces. It is rare unit as you will not find much info on it.

This listing is for a. RARE AIWA WALKMAN CASSETTE PLAYER RECORDER HS-J08, brand new item, spent all the time in a collector’s display cabinet, it was never turned on even once since it left the factory. The black plastic case which you see in the photos protected the walkman inside all this time so it looks like a brand new walkman inside when you take it out of the case and it had not even a speck of dust inside the cassette compartment when I opened it and the complex design with shining metal parts is amazing, it is an experience that I liked, where else would you get a toy like this brand new to play with? I liked the experience. It would have been even better if it had the original cardboard box, but all that is left is the walkman with its black protective case and the remote contol which I have not tested. The only flaw I could see is that the top of the front lid doesn’t line up very well on one corner with the rest of the body but it doesn’t affect the working of the walkman, I thought I should mention it. This walkman needed very little restoration work. Item was tested, everything works including playback and recording from the radio works too, but I don’t guarantee the recording functionality and recording quality on any walkmen that I sell as I don’t restore such a function as few buyers will use it for recording. Has a standard jack so many different brands of headphones can be plugged into it. This walkman uses two standard AA size batteries for power. PLEASE NOTE: This item has been restored, so it is guaranteed to work properly. Type of restoration done: Rubber drive drive belt was replaced, after the replacements the speed was adjusted properly with Sony Professional test tape at 3000Hz. This is not a simple model, it is quite well built mechanically and is more of a higher-end walkman in quality, it’s a nice toy.
