The Mitsubishi DT-10 cassette deck is a rare vintage piece from 1978, manufactured in Japan. Known for its quality and durability, Mitsubishi cassette decks are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike. The DT-10 model offers a nostalgic look back at the golden age of consumer electronics, making it a valuable and timeless piece for any audio enthusiast. Mitsubishi DT-10 Cassette Deck. Years of manufacture: 1978 – 1980. Color: Metal Silver / Black. Advanced Features and Superior Performance. The DT-10 offers both excellent basic performance and great ease in use combined with the attractive lines of the whole Mitsubishi Audio Component line0up. Ultralow wow and flutter – only 0,06% WRMS; are ensured by the use of a DC servomotor with large (2-7/8) flywheel, a capstan circular to within a 0,3 µ tolerance, and a high precision drive assembly. Special circuitry and selected components help to realize the full advantages of Dolby noise reduction. Mitsubishi’s own ultralow-noise PNP-type epitaxial transistors are used in the first stage of the recording equalizer amplifier. The DT-10 has a special meter to tell you how much time is left before the tape will end. Often useful during playback, it is an invaluable aid to high quality home recording. Recording Master Volume Control and Mixing Facilities. Like the DT-30, the DT-10 has separate level controls for Mic and Line inputs, so that both can be mixed, and a master recording level control for professional-type fade-in and fade-out effects. Other Features and Functions. Peak-level indicator plus VU meters. Memory rewind function to (000) on the counter. Timer-controlled recording and playback possible. L-channel Mic input doubles as input for a mono Mic. Two position adjustment of both equalization and bias. Oil-damped gentle cassette-ejection mechanism. 4,75 cm/sec (1-7/8 ips) ±1%. 80 sec (C-60 tape). Signal-to-Noise Ratio (+3 VU, weighted, 400 Hz). Erasure Ratio (1 kHz). Between Channels (500 – 6,300 Hz). Between Tracks (1 kHz). Total Harmonic Distortion (400 Hz). 40 – 12,000 Hz ±3 dB. 40 – 15,000 Hz ±3 dB. Dimensions (W x H x D). 425 x 170 x 379 mm (16-3/4″ x 6-3/4″ x 14-7/8). 9,5 kg (21 lbs). Chasrock Services is proud to be. (ISTA 6-FEDEX_A Protocol Certified). This is a registered certification in electronic packaging. They put that package through rigorous testing including the following. Shock Test: (10 random drops from 30 Inches). Compression Test: The package is then tested in a press at 976.94 lbs. Vibration Test: The package is then put on a vibration table and violently shaken for 45 minutes. You must pass all three tests without any damage, cosmetically or functionality. I think it’s worth a few extra bucks, because they can’t be replaced. An extremely rare find, a BIT TALKMAN II, custom built by the Boston Institute of Technology on a Japanese Panasonic portable cassette recorder. No Panasonic model # is visible, and checking under the BIT Talkman II control add-on only shows where the original cover was cut to fit the custom wiring. Not sure of the extra functions since it currently cannot play a tape but likely the one is variable speed. Very heavy, powers on and motor does attempt to turn but definitely needs a belt. Damage to one corner as shown, door hinges are very worn and door is loose. From what we understand, these Talkman cassette players/recorders by the Boston Institute of Technology were intended for educational/library/institutional use or hearing assistance. Very high quality audio cassette devices and very few ever made much less still in good working condition! We also have a BIT TALKMAN I (USA made) available from the same collection! Vintage BIT Talkman FM Cassette Recorder CrO2 Metal Boston Inst Tech USA Made TM-001. An extremely rare find, a WORKING Boston Institute of Technology BIT TALKMAN, made in the USA! This is the model 1, labeled TM-001, Made in the USA. Very heavy and solid, with aluminum door. All cassette functions work, FF/RW/Play/Pause, but the audio playback is fast. FM works great, antenna is intact with a slight bend on the tip section. Includes an interesting belt clip with cassette door catch to prevent the tape from falling out while in motion. This is most interesting because that is marked. RQK94ZA Matshushita Electric Industrial Co. Plastic, made in Japan. (So that accessory is made by Panasonic) Later models were modified Panasonic portable cassette recorders, Japan made with US modifications, and then the III was BIT’s US design made in Taiwan. From what we understand, these Talkman cassette players/recorders by the Boston Institute of Technology were intended for educational/library/institutional use or hearing assistance. Very high quality audio cassette devices and very few ever made much less still in good working condition!
