This is a classic professional-style Marantz field cassette recorder with built-in speaker, VU meter, carrying strap, tape counter, pitch control, tone/level controls, monitor/source switch, record level control, and multiple input/output jacks. I tested it using batteries only. I do not have the original power cord/adapter and did not want to risk damaging the unit with the wrong plug. With batteries installed, the unit powered on and successfully played a cassette tape through the built-in speaker. Cosmetically, it shows noticeable age and storage wear, including dust, scuffs, scratches, residue/marks, and general wear throughout. The carrying strap is attached and included. There is an etched/engraved identification marking on the back of the unit. Please review all photos closely for condition. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.

Overall this unit is in really nice shape, there’s no major blems or anything concerning, all the buttons are present and function. I haven’t tested this item thoroughly as I don’t have the infrastructure to do so but the knobs and belts work great and turn as they should when they should and as fast as they should. As you probably know NEC is a great brand and aside from its pedigree this is also a particularly uncommon model making this ideal for a collector or for someone who wants a tape deck but for the same price as a normal one you can get a very high quality and unique model.
