The power is on, and all playback-related buttons function properly. As I don’t have a cassette tape at hand, I haven’t been able to confirm playback and recording. Since it’s a cassette tape recorder, rubber components like pinch rollers and belts are likely significantly degraded, so please consider adjustments or repairs. There are some scratches and dirt, but considering its age, it’s in good condition. Product contents: Main unit (power cable is attached directly), Manual (Japanese). As the product is approximately 35 years old, we cannot guarantee its operation. Please be aware of the above before placing an order. Adapter input specification: 100V, 5060Hz Plug type: Type A If the voltage in your country is different, you will need to use a transformer (also check power consumption). One of the best looking and well-designed rack-mount analog 4-track multitrack cassette recorder I’ve seen of its kind. Perhaps a hybrid attempt by design of desktop features in a rack-mount version to satisfy every orientation pros and novice demand. It is worth having this indispensable esoteric machine around in any audio or video situation to add substantial life. To any cold masterings that perhaps only a tape based format could ever muster, and that in itself. Is value enough to justify its staple purpose in any home based or pro studio environment alike! Prior to posting, countless hours spent given a 20 point tune up including but not limited to, opening the machine layer by layer, board by board. New belt installed, tape transport rejuvenated, heads demagnetized. Lubrication and deoxit all knobs, controls & majority of electronics, as well as many relevant connections where necessarily important to ensure proper contact, static free and smooth operation. Furthermore, buffed and detailed clean every crevice every line to free from dusts with even some retouching may be involved in the refurbishing process. Bench tested and all buttons work as should, records and plays with motor mechanism as strong as intended and ready to put in service once again. However, All four VU lamps are out and need to be replaced. I did not have spare bulbs in stock. Nonetheless, access to replace the lamps is extremely simple anyone can do it! (see last image for reference). The Aria R504 is no longer in production and becoming a hard commodity and very sought after due to its professional quality result of any studio or live recording project and ease of use that is still relevant in digital culture of today! So grab it while it lasts! Like most vintages, some superficial imperfections and cosmetic are almost expected but in no way impede normal functionality. Exceeding 3 decades of tracking down and literally thousands of man hours invested in refurbishing, restoring, repairing these amazing electronic wonders to accumulate such magnificent concentration of historical analog importance you’ve ever seen! Some are new, used and few are part of my on going passion in what I do. Nonetheless, all has given equal meticulous attention and care to arrive in the integrity they once were and will be hard pressed not to admire aesthetically. I baby all my gears more than anyone I know :- and pictures don’t do justice but reflect what you see. Included but not limited to are Otari 5050 reel to reel, Fostex and other open decks.
