Up for sale we have a Tandberg 3034 cassette deck. This unit records and plays back beautifully. The speed is correct and there is nearly non-existent wow and flutter. Both meters work as well as the meter backlights. This unit has almost no head wear which is remarkable for a machine of this age. Includes the cassette cover which gets lost or damaged on so many of these units. Play, record, tape counter, rewind, and fast forward functions work flawlessly. This unit has been recently serviced and has had belts replaced, the speed adjusted, and the heads & tape path have been cleaned. Manually selectable tape type. Compatible with Type I, II, and IV tapes. User adjustable bias and record sensitivity for each tape type. Headphone output with adjustable volume. Record level and balance control. A previous owner installed felt feet in the front because the original rubber strip was lost at some point. The plastic tabs on the lower head cover have been broken off, but the cover has been previously repaired by epoxying metal tabs in their place, so it does stay in place as it’s supposed to (see the final two pictures). Tascam 488 MKII Eight-Track Cassette Recorder, recently serviced by Hi-Tech Electronic Service (NY, NY) and fully functional on all 8 tracks; new belt, recently internally cleaned. These hold up great, but are now rare, especially in good shape. Has been used for maybe 6 hours since last servicing. Cosmetics are clean but it has a piece of tape from the previous owner and my initials in sharpie on the front.
