There are no scratches, scuffs, or blemishes of any kind on the casing, speakers, or any other part of the unit. The chrome is bright and shiny, and all the lettering is crisp and clear. JVC Stereo Radio Cassette Recorder RC-M70JW Vintage Boombox FOR PARTS – TURNS ON. Does power on and there is radio noise. But could not make out any stations. Might be due to there not being an atnenna. Powers on with a power supply I use for testing. Does not include a power supply. I cleaned it the best we could. This is a vintage JVC RC-M70JW boombox. Overall it’s in very nice condition. It’s been completely dismantled and cleaned from the inside out. Every part that could be washed with soap and water has been. I guarantee there’s no dust, dirt, bugs or anything else living inside of this box. All applicable electronic parts have been cleaned/deoxed. The radio’s dial lighting was converted from incandescent to a soft white LED which was also added to both VU meters. The LED lighting is lit by using the original momentary button. All four speakers are working and sound amazing. Both the radio and cassette player are working. All new cassette player belts have been installed. The cassette’s recording function works as does the music search. The battery compartment looks like it had some acid in it at some point but everything has been cleaned and I verified that it works perfectly on 10 D batteries. It comes with a new 6-1/2′ power cord. The line in jacks work. Both antennas, which look to be original, easily extend and retract and are in great condition. The front panel has some spotting which I show in the last picture. It has several scratches on the body which can also be seen in the pictures. A message to potential scammers: While I had this disassembled, all circuit boards and various other parts were specially marked and timestamp photographed. This was done to prevent scammers from purchasing, trading good parts for bad and then trying to return the radio as “not as described”. Vintage JVC BOOMBOX RC-M70JW Stereo Radio/Cassette Recorder PARTS/REPAIR. Great 1980s Boom Box top of the line at the time. Just tried it, I could not get a cassette to play, rewind or fast forward in the player. Also the cassette door gets stuck in the closed position. The Boom Box is otherwise in Excellent condition. The radio plays fine. Takes 10 D batteries (does have an ac cord). Does not have the manual or original box. I’m not experts in any field. I find interesting things in yard and estate sales, and pass them along to you. I do a little internet research and describe things as best I can, but you probably know more about the item than I do. VINTAGE RADIO – CASSETTE PLAYER/RECORDER. FM / MW / SW1 / SW2 / SW3 / SW4. VERY GOOD COSMETIC CONDITION CONSIDERING THE AGE. RADIO & CASSETTE PLAYER ARE FUNCTIONAL. During my testing procedure, I found some issues with the fader and button controls. The volume faders work, but it seems like the fader for the right speaker gives off more volume, and the fader for the left speaker gives off more bass in addition to volume. Strangely, the right Rec level fader seems to make the left speaker sound louder. The treble control does not work. The cassette player works, except the rewind function. CAUTION: When the “Auto/Manual” Rec switch is on “Auto, ” strangely, it causes the speakers to go on full blast. This can damage the speakers so please beware.
