VINTAGE ANALOG TASCAM 244 PORTASTUDIO 4-TRACK CASSETTE TAPE RECORDER. I installed new belts and idler tires assuming that that would be all that was needed to get this running again; but it seems as though it needs some other help too. It is now running quite well mechanically (it plays, pauses, stops, fast forwards, and rewinds); but the tape deck isn’t passing sound. I plugged a mic into all six channels and they all pass sound if turned up; but the sound is quite distorted. On the brighter side, it appears to have been well taken care of and is in excellent cosmetic condition.
