Tascam 122-B Vintage Rack Mount Stereo Master Cassette Tape Recorder – 100V. The Tascam 122-B was released in 1981. It is a master stereo cassette deck with Dolby B noise reduction. The main features of the Tascam 122-B are: 3 heads and off-tape monitoring, analog 3 digit tape counter and memory stop, manual tape type selection with support for normal, chrome and metal tapes as well as single capstan transport. This is a used unit. This unit has been serviced. The service included, new belts, transport and head alignments, speed test / pitch alignment, clean, new lamp and demagnetisation of the heads. This unit is ready to go at home or in the studio. This unit is in pretty good cosmetic condition. Unfortunately the plastic around the DBX unit inputs and outputs at the back was broken and glued back together by a previous owner. The inputs and outputs are still fully functional. (There is no DBX unit included in this sale). It also has one large scuff / scratch on near the rack mounts. As well as some smaller general rack rash, nicks and scratches. Tascam 122 MK II Vintage Rack Mount Stereo Cassette Tape Recorder – 100V. The Tascam 122MKII was released in 1987. It is a 3U Rack mountable. Stereo cassette recorder and. Was a radical upgrade to the original 122. It features a three-motor transport with full-logic control, enabling features such as digital tape counter display, memory and return to zero, tape run time TRT display and Variable pitch control. The Mk II continued with one of the 122s popular features, front-panel bias/level tweaks. When used in conjunction with the built-in 400 Hz/10 kHz oscillator and VU meters, users could tune the bias up to whatever tape was at hand. New to the 122 Mk II was Dolby HX Pro. This active bias technique largely overcame the problems with self-bias and loss of high frequencies in recordings by dynamically adjusting the bias oscillator to maintain constant bias levels. The result was improved high-frequency performance with headroom improvements up to six dB. This is a used unit. This unit has been serviced. Vtg TASCAM 122 Professional 3 Head Rack Mount Cassette Tape Deck Recorder Japan. Manufactured from 1981 to the mid-eighties, the TASCAM 122 is a 4-track, 2 channel recorder/reproducer/player designed for the production environment to produce master cassette tapes. Features: 3-head construction allows off-the-tape monitoring; dolby HX is provided to improve high-end response at high levels (noise reduction); and a bias and recording level calibration to get optimum values for each type tape used. Tape types are Normal (ordinary cassette tape), Cobalt or Chromium Dioxide tape, and Metal. The TASCAM 122 has two-speed capability (1-7/8 and 3-3/4); a memory with counter; record muting to eliminate unwanted materials; and front headphone volume control to adjust the monitoring level. Front and rear inputs; DBX compatible, with input for a remote if you have one. TASCAM developed and produced cassette decks for professional application – for musicians and for the broadcast industry. A year after this product was first introduced, NBC standardized their entire operation using the TASCAM 122. The reason NBC made the change was because the 122 had all the capabilities for adjustments and spectacular performance characteristics. Soon CBS and ABC also adopted the 122. The build quality in terms of longevity and durability, especially during the first generation of decks (when the 122 was built) was very high. Up for sale is this very cool VINTAGE TASCAM CD-A500 CD player recorder / cassette deck. This unit tested powers on, loaded CD and cassette and tested working. Please see detail high res pictures for item condition detail. One of the ear was bent, and I’d straightened it out. Power cored had a small damage on the insulation, and I’d wrapped it up using 3M electrical tape, so you shouldn’t have any problem with it now. Digital Media & Network Players.
