Tested and working, everything works great except for the TRK 3 REC button. If you push it in, it stays stuck in. I had to wriggle it back out with a skinny flathead. You can see it sits a little weird even when it’s out, 5th photo. Unit has some scratches/dings on top and there is electrical tape on the power cord. See photos for condition. This is a Sony TC-D5M Vintage Portable Stereo Cassette Recorder. Comes with a Sony AC power adapter. From a local estate. Has lots of issues. Cosmetics-The body top areas are clean overall. It was generally protected wrapped up in storage. The bottom battery compartment and surrounding areas though have heavy damage from leakage. Especially the bottom plate, battery cover, and inside contact areas. I took a peek inside and the board looks generally clean otherwise. Operationally I checked this out and it does generally respond. I was able to play a cassette, control functions moved smoothly, and recorded clearly. I did find several issues though. When I first tried this the fast forward did not respond. But after a few tries it started to move. Most likely it needs new belts from age. The meter lights don’t always respond to pushing the button. The battery contacts are intermittent and do not always make a connection. Additionally the right channel has a serious issue. Sometimes its clear but mostly has a motor boat sound which causes the right meter to peg and rattle to the right. Maybe some capacitors going bad?? So this has some general life but will need professional service and parts replaced to be useable. Great for someone who enjoys a project and restoring older recorders. This is a Sony WM-D6C Vintage Walkman Professional Recorder. From a local estate. Cosmetics-Nice and clean overall with just some minor wear. Looks like it was not used much. Would make a nice display item in a collection. Battery holder is clean. One of the internal body contacts pins has some green pitting but are generally clean otherwise. The pause/eject button is loose and shifts around some but still functions. Operationally I was able to play a tape smoothly, recorded an audio source and played back clearly, tape counter works, and other controls generally responded accordingly. I did find some issues. The fast forward and rewind do not work at all. Also the phones jack is bad and intermittent. I had to put pressure on it for both sides to work. Additionally I had a hard time getting the battery pack to make proper contact with the internal body pins. I had to release and pull out the pack a bit for it to make contact. It was in storage for many years. So this will need professional service or parts replaced to be fully functional. See lots of photos of what you are getting.
