National RX-5500 Radio Cassette Recorder AC Cord Included Used Vintage Audio. Exterior & Operational Condition. Cleaned and did maintenace service both inside and out. Air blow? Detergent cleaning? Compound polishing? Resin gloss application. The knobs, aluminum panel, and plated parts have been removed, cleaned, and polished to a shine (some plating lifting and corrosion marks remain). There are few common edge dents and very little paint wear, but there is a crack in the scale cover. The control panel has some shallow scratches and corrosion marks (the top panel resin is in mostly good condition). The 8-section rod antenna is original and has been polished to a shine. The back casing has minimal discoloration but there are some stains that could not be removed. The battery compartment has had most corrosion marks removed and the terminals have been polished. The cassette mechanism and other components have been serviced but there are some minor issues. Cassette playback, recording, fast forward, and rewind functions are working. There is a noise on the right side during playback and no output. You can listen to tapes by turning the balance to the left side. The new belt provides strong torque and smooth winding. Speed has also been adjusted. Both radio and external input produce balanced, good quality sound from both left and right channels. Woofer and tweeter output confirmed. Clear sound with no distortion. Tone control functions have been confirmed. Post-servicing, there is almost no scratchy noise from the controls. LEDs light up (tuning light is OK, level light on the right side is NG). The included AC cord is short (about 50cm). This item has been serviced and cleaned as described above, and is in working condition, but please understand that there are some issues such as cassette playback problems and a crack in the scale cover. We try to keep the items as clean as possible, but there may be scratches and/or stains. If you are looking for a perfect item, we recommend purchasing a new item. The set item is shown in the photo.
