Not further test has bin made. Standard signs of use. May have cosmetic wear and/or scuffs. Noticeable scratches and scuffs. Light Scratches on display window and tape door. See photos for more detail. Includes only the sony TC-K690. Does not include any additional components. You are guaranteed to receive the item as described in the listing. I do not do advanced electrical testing of the internals so I cannot guarantee that everything is up to the same specifications as they would be coming out of the factory. There is an understanding that as electronics age parts such as capacitors may fall out of factory specifications. There may be other issues with “as is” units that are not listed in the description. Nakamichi 3 head double capstan cassette deck. There are noticeable scratches on the top surface. (Please refer to the 5th photo) Other than the scratches on the top surface, it looks relatively clean. It is a fully working item. Recording, replay, fast forwarding, rewinding, etc. There are no other problems with the azimuth adjustment mechanism, etc. The Eject and Phones prints on the front are blurred. Equipped with 3 discrete heads with completely independent recording, playback, and erase heads, a “frequency dispersion type double capstan” that boasts outstanding tape running stability, and Nakamichi’s signature “auto azimuth alignment. Since it automatically and accurately matches the azimuth during recording, it also compensates for individual differences between tapes. The left and right REC levels can be adjusted for each position from the front panel. It is also equipped with a pitch control, so you can comfortably listen to tapes recorded at different speeds. Turns on and you can hear what sounds like motors turning. Constant whirring noise when power is on. Notopen, so, I don’t know if a cassette works anymore. Best for parts, or try to repair.

Vintage 1992 Sony TC-K690 3-Head Dual Capstan Cassette Deck (Black) – Serviced. Replaced the 2 main drive belts for motor and capstans. Replaced’mode belt’ for additional motor. Drives mechanism to change from forward to rewind, etc. No further repairs were performed or deemed necessary. Playback and recording are working, speed appears correct. Noticed no issues with sound from either recording or playback on tape. Forward and rewind functions working. Tape monitor head working. Bias and Level calibration controls tested good. Bias and Dolby NR knobs intermittently seem a bit stiffer than other to turn, but not a functional issue. Tape head and right capstan surfaces appear slightly worn. Standard signs of use. May have cosmetic wear and/or scuffs. Noticeable scratches and scuffs, has stains. Scratches on display window and tape door. Dented area in back around power cord. See photos for more detail.
