Grundig C9000 Vintage 4 Band Radio Cassette Recorder. This is for two main reasons. 1 There is an audible hum when powering the unit via A/C power. It is present when using either the radio or cassette. This hum is not present when operating on DC battery power. 2 Cassette does not function when any buttons are pushed. Rewind button does not stay engaged feature? Condition of the unit is consistent with a used item over 40 years old, with visible scratches and dings. There are no apparent cracks or broken areas cosmetically. I gave the unit a “once over” cleaning, but did not detail it. I have found that giving a thorough cleaning be someone who is not a fully trained technician can cause more harm than good damage to finish or electrical parts. I can tell you that it powers on and receives various stations and you can hear audio through the speakers, albeit with a hum. I do not know if replacing the capacitors or the entire power supply will fix this issue. I do not know if replace belts or gears will fix the cassette portion.
