The FM radio works as it should. The TV function powers up, though we only checked whether it turns on and off. The TAPE will play your tapes, but you cannot stop or control playback until the tape finishes one side. Please do not force the mechanism, as it needs repair to function smoothly. When the tape ends, it won’t pop out automatically; you will need to push the open button to remove the tape. Rare BoomBox from 1979, made in Japan. Watch the video in the listing picture 2. Vintage TEAC V-95RX Auto-Reverse Stereo Cassette Deck. Offered here is a vintage TEAC V-95RX auto-reverse stereo cassette deck, made in Japan during the early 1980s. This example is in very good overall cosmetic condition and has been tested and is fully functional. About the TEAC V-95RX. The V-95RX was one of TEAC’s feature-rich consumer cassette decks of the early 1980s. It combines bidirectional recording and playback with automatic reverse, Dolby B and dbx noise reduction, support for Normal, CrO2 and Metal tapes, electronic transport controls, program-search functions and a motorized recording-level fader. TEAC also offered the RC-95 wired remote control as an optional accessory. One of the more unusual features of this model is its fast auto-reverse system. The transport uses tape/leader sensing to change direction near the end of a side, allowing playback or recording to continue in the opposite direction with minimal interruption. This cassette deck has been tested and is fully functional. Playback, recording and transport operation were tested and the deck is operating properly. Controls, displays and illuminated indicators are functioning as expected. Auto-reverse stereo cassette deck. 4-track, 2-channel stereo operation. Bidirectional recording and playback. Standard cassette tape speed of 4.76 cm/s. Supports Type I / Normal cassette tape. Supports Type II / CrO2 cassette tape. Supports Type IV / Metal cassette tape. Dolby B noise reduction. Dbx noise reduction system. TEAC CPS Computomatic Program System. Block Repeat function with start/stop memory. Digital four-digit tape counter. Peak program level display. Selectable fast/slow recording-fader speed. Recording balance and output-level controls. Front-panel left/right microphone inputs. Timer play / record capability. 120V AC, 60Hz, 25W. Some reference material describes the V-95RX as a three-head deck because the bidirectional mechanism uses a combination record/playback head along with separate erase heads for the two tape directions. It should not be confused with a conventional three-head monitoring deck having completely separate record and playback heads. The unit is in very good overall cosmetic condition for its age. The brushed-metal face, controls, cassette compartment and display present well, with only light age-related cosmetic wear visible. Please carefully review all photographs for the best representation of the exact cosmetic condition of the unit. TEAC V-95RX Auto-Reverse Stereo Cassette Deck. TEAC RC-95 remote control. Original box, manual or other accessories unless specifically pictured. This is vintage analog audio equipment. The V-95RX is particularly notable for combining TEAC’s bidirectional recording system with auto reverse, dbx noise reduction, CPS program searching, block repeat and a motorized recording-level fader.
