Update: Record functions works. The only thing is that the erase head is not performing as it should – meaning that when you record on a previously recorded cassette you can hear some of the previous recoding along with new recording. When you record on a blank (or previously erased) cassette the recoding is fine, sounds very good actually. One channel records just a tad higher than the other but that’s an easy adjustment with the balance knobs. All functions work on connection with record. Here’s a nice looking tape deck made by Sansui model SX-3330. Not a super high-end deck but no slouch either. It plays well and sound very good. And it has the traditional black Sansui good looks. I recently serviced this deck. All belts were replaced. All tires were cleaned and a touch of rubber rejuvenator was added. Critical parts where lube was added was cleaned and new lube added. All pots and switches were cleaned. Everything is in good working condition now. Smooth and almost silent playback with a good quality recorded tape. FWD and REW are also in good working order. I did not test record but no reason to believe any issue there. (nice added feature in this deck that the tape counter has a back light). PLEASE NOTE: the small door that roll over to protect the heads when not in use (when there’s no cassette in the deck) is missing. Just wasn’t there when I got this, it was broken off and only the small pieces were left at the hinge points. I removed those small pieces. Where the door attaches is not broken, so if you found a replacement door it could be attached easy. Pictured Teac cassette is not included in this listing. Sansui WS-X1, 6 Track Cassette Recorder, 8 Channel Mixer, Vintage, for Repair. 4 fader knobs are missing and the fader stems are bent (Photo #7). This does not affect the faders function. Cassette door is off the right hinge (Photo #5). Deck B transport is engaged, and will not accept cassettes. This deck was not tested. Unit is Tested as follows. All 8 channels pass audio from the ¼ inputs, to the RCA Stereo & Mixer Outputs, and all Faders, Pan, Eq & Trim operate. Digital Reverb, Channel 7 & 8 XLR inputs, Effect Send & Return, and Phones function. Audio was recorded and played back on tracks 1 to 4 on Deck A successfully. Deck A transport (Rewind, Fast Forward, and Play) functions. However, there is not guarantee that Deck A transport will retest the same. Both decks A & B should be serviced. No further testing has been performed. It has not been fully tested. No guarantee it will retest the same. Please take a look at the photos for physical condition. Functional condition is described above. Please keep in mind most units are complicated and not all functions are tested. Also, most are older units and may need their pots and buttons sprayed or cleaned. This item is also offered locally in other venues. Unfortunately most European countries excluding.
