This listing is for a. RARE AIWA WALKMAN CASSETTE PLAYER RECORDER HS-J08, brand new item, spent all the time in a collector’s display cabinet, it was never turned on even once since it left the factory. The black plastic case which you see in the photos protected the walkman inside all this time so it looks like a brand new walkman inside when you take it out of the case and it had not even a speck of dust inside the cassette compartment when I opened it and the complex design with shining metal parts is amazing, it is an experience that I liked, where else would you get a toy like this brand new to play with? I liked the experience. It would have been even better if it had the original cardboard box, but all that is left is the walkman with its black protective case and the remote contol which I have not tested. The only flaw I could see is that the top of the front lid doesn’t line up very well on one corner with the rest of the body but it doesn’t affect the working of the walkman, I thought I should mention it. This walkman needed very little restoration work. Item was tested, everything works including playback and recording from the radio works too, but I don’t guarantee the recording functionality and recording quality on any walkmen that I sell as I don’t restore such a function as few buyers will use it for recording. Has a standard jack so many different brands of headphones can be plugged into it. This walkman uses two standard AA size batteries for power. This listing is for a VINTAGE SONY QUARTZ WALKMAN CASSETTE PLAYER WM-DD 22. This DD walkman has been restored, so it is guaranteed to work properly. The walkman is in used condition with some marks, scratches, has one bump visible in the photo on the front near the volume control, I think that was the only bump that I can remember but I didn’t look much, might have few more. The rubber around the buttons on this model has become old and dust sticks to it easily, so cleaning it from time to time will be necessary, please use a q-tip wet only in water and wipe gently the surface, don’t use any solvents as it will wipe out the writing on the rubber and also will make the rubber very sticky, use water only and wipe gently with little pressure. The color of the photos might not very accurately reflect the color of the item because of different lighting conditions, dark grey for example might look dark brown or black. This is an used item and might have some marks, bumps, scratches etc that might not all be visible in the photos and I can’t guarantee the cosmetic condition of used items.
