It looks like an industrial-sized office desktop tape recorder, but its a component piece designed to connect to your existing receiver. There is no cassette bay door, instead a deluxe hinged smoky acrylic cover protects the deck’s entire face. Analog VU meters work for both playback and record. It has huge, chunky white buttons that have a great feel when operating. The cover has a few scuffs, but unit overall looks like it was barely used. It measures 11.25″L x 7.25″W x 4.5H. A few things about this deck: the fast-forward/rewind controls do not lock in place, and you have to hold them down when operating. It was designed that way (probably a cost-saving measure). Also, the hardwired stereo rca cords are used for both playback and recording! Unfortunately, I was unable to get the left channel to record. The VU meter wouldn’t operate either, and I tried both the rca connection and the 1/8 mic input. Record quality on the right channel was excellent. Not sure what to make of that, but unit otherwise operates flawlessly.
