Multitracker FOSTEX X-30 (similar to the smaller Tascam Porta units), made in Japan in 1987. This unit packs a surprising amount of features for such a small form factor, including a basic equalizer, Dolby B/C and four separate tape outputs that can also be used to add external effects in the absence of AUX sends. The pitch control makes it great for working with drone sounds and tape loops. Despite the unusual layout (no knobs, just faders with alphanumerically marked caps), the workflow is actually very intuitive. It also features some of the most easy-to-use ping-pong bouncing functionality you’ll find. Tape speed: 4.8 cm / s. Switchable Dolby B and C noise reduction. Recorder frequency response: 40 Hz-12.5 KHz. 2 recording inputs with switchable line/mic level (A input – tracks 1/3; B input – tracks 2/4). 2headphone outs, 4tape outs and 2line outs. The item is used, in very good condition. Belts have been replaced, gears and other moving components in the tape mechanism have been individually cleaned and re-lubricated. Tape heads have been cleaned and demagnetized. Faders have been cleaned with compressed air and Deoxit. Tested & everything works! The item is also in very good optical condition, despite being more than 30 years old. Please refer to the photos for more details. Comes with original power supply (EU plug).
