Tascam Portastudio 488 Vintage 8-Track Audio Mixer Cassette Tape Recorder. It’s been well taken care of and cosmetically is in excellent condition with only minor signs of use. It’s also super clean. I haven’t used it in a few years. It was working perfectly when I last used it but now the cassette won’t play. The cassette will fast forward and it will rewind. But when you push the play button the heads momentarily engage then disengage. All the other function buttons in the control section work such as RTZ (Return to ZERO), counter reset, LOC 1 & LOC 2 etc. The Group 1 – 8 RECORD FUNCTION buttons work properly too. I haven’t tested anything else except for what I’ve described. Comes with the original box (box is in rough shape with torn corners and stains) and a photocopy of the manual (copy is well worn and is missing the last few pages).
