Hello, this was my father’s and I found it in a storage tote when cleaning out the basement. I know absolutely nothing about this product. There is a slightly musty smell, mostly in the leather, as it has been in storage for 20 years or more. It was protected inside the tote and the tote was sealed. With D batteries: The play button works and spins the deck, the fast forward and rewind buttons both work and spin the deck, and the counter counts with them properly and also can reset back to 0. This is the extent of my ability to test, as I have no other cables or microphones or a cassette to try it further. Untested, I have not been able to test this fully. If it works, that is wonderful. This listing is as is, for parts. Because I can’t test it. Unit and leather case only, no cables or batteries. All switches buttons and knobs are in good shape and snug. Eject button opens the deck properly. Battery compartment is clean. Cassette deck is clean and seems to have no wear. Slight discolorations on right flip panel pad. Minor scratches scuffs and dust on outside of unit and case. I don’t believe this has ever been used, as my father was more of a collector. (I’m sorry if this is wrong but this is what i could find for marantz PMD430). According to online information. Stereo with Dolby B and dbx noise reduction. Audible cue and review.
